Interlochen Arts Camps - Oboe

High School Oboe

High School Oboe Study at IAC...

The large ensembles--orchestras and band--form the backbone of the Interlochen Arts Camp experience for HS oboists who range in age from rising ninth graders through recent graduates. Supplementing the large ensemble experience are private lessons, oboe studio classes, and assistance with reeds and reed making throughout the six-week camp. All of the HS oboists have opportunities to work with various resident and guest artist-teachers at Interlochen throughout the summer. The extended experience is a unique time for participants to grow as musicians, build positive artistic habits, and develop lifelong friendships.

High School Orchestras...

Participants accepted for the High School Orchestra program at Interlochen Arts Camp participate in daily orchestra rehearsals as well as sectional rehearsals for woodwinds and oboes. Participants also enjoy daily opportunities for chamber music with other woodwind players from the HS Orchestra program. Participants audition for admission into the camp, and once arriving to campus, they audition for placement and seating in one of the festival's orchestras--the World Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Interlochen Philharmonic.

High School Band...
